The World Bank
, Washington, DC (1981 to 1998)
Sr Informatics Specialist (1992-1998) - Provided advice and support, both to the borrowers' and the Bank's staff, on the selection, procurement and implementation of software solutions, hardware, communications equipment and related consulting services, funded through World Bank loans.

Information Technology Officer - Asia Region (1989-1992) - Managed the planning and support functions for over 1,200 computer users located in Washington, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Computing Trainer - Economic Development Institute of the World Bank (1987-1989) - Conducted extensive research on the use of computers in training.  Wrote several papers on the subject and lectured in many countries around the world.

Network Planning Manager - Information Resource Management Department (1985-1987) - Participated in the selection of an enterprise-wide LAN solution to interconnect over 6,000 PCs.  Analyzed most cost-effective ways to communicate between Washington, and the Bank's 76 overseas locations.  Established direct satellite links with Abidjan, Beijing, Dar-es-Salaam, Jakarta, London, Nairobi, New Delhi and Paris.

Target, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1980-1981)
Marketing Manager/Acting General Manager - Managed the marketing division of the exclusive distributor in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay for:  Qantel computers; MSI portable terminals; ISC microcomputers and terminals, etc.  Supervised 25 sales persons; 3 subsidiaries and 6 sub-distributors in Argentina; plus one in Paraguay and another in Uruguay.  Managed the marketing & planning functions; defined marketing policies, procedures and standards; selected products to market and negotiated distributorship agreements.  In the 2nd semester of 1980, sales reached $2.0 million, exceeding the organization's total combined sales for the three previous years.

 
Storage Technology Corp., Louisville, CO (1979-1980)

Marketing Manager for Latin America – Identified, selected and signed agreements with distributors; advised, assisted and controlled the distributors.  Established one distributor in Argentina, two in Mexico, one in Peru and two in Venezuela.  Sales to these distributors exceeded $2.5 million during the period.

 
Bull Argentina, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1976-1978)
Subsidiary of Honeywell-Bull

Marketing Director/Acting General Director – Managed the Sales, Systems Engineering, Time-Sharing Center and Marketing Planning & Administration units, comprising approximately 50 employees.   Computer sales and new rentals exceeded $25.0 million in a 15-month period, increasing by 50% the value of all Bull computers installed in Argentina throughout the preceding 12-year period.  Marketing productivity ratios were five times higher than the corporation's international standards.

International Manager of Information Systems – Managed the ICT activities of the subsidiaries located in:  Argentina, with 10,000 employees; Brazil, 14,000; Colombia, 2,000; Peru, 3,000 and Venezuela, 5,000.  All administrative tasks in Argentina were fully computerized; use of computers was started at all other locations; engineering calculations were computerized generating substantial savings; systems development work was shared between subsidiaries; custom developed and used own charge-back system for the appropriation of the internal ICT costs to end-users.
